• Portuguese Language Requirement: In accordance with the Lei de Defesa do Consumidor (Lei n.º 24/96), all essential information, including booking terms, pricing, and cancellation policies, must be made available in Portuguese. Additional languages may be offered for the convenience of international guests.
• Payment Terms: Payment for bookings can be made via credit card, debit card, or bank transfer. Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise specified. For certain rates, a deposit may be required with the balance due upon arrival. All prices are displayed in Euro and include VAT (IVA) and all applicable taxes as required by Portuguese consumer protection law (Lei n.º 24/96). • Complaint Handling: In accordance with the Lei de Defesa do Consumidor, we are committed to addressing any concerns promptly. Complaints can be submitted via email to cedrimhillside@sapo.pt or by phone at 964638679. We aim to acknowledge all complaints within 48 hours and provide a full response within 10 business days. For urgent matters during your stay, please contact our reception immediately. An official complaints book (Livro de Reclamações) is available at the establishment and online at www.livroreclamacoes.pt as required by Portuguese law (Decreto-Lei n.º 156/2005). If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate your complaint to the relevant consumer mediation service or ASAE (Autoridade de Segurança Alimentar e Económica) as detailed below.
• Legal Guarantees: In accordance with the Lei de Defesa do Consumidor and Portuguese consumer protection laws, we guarantee that our accommodation services will conform to the description provided at the time of booking. Should any services fail to meet these standards, guests are entitled to request remedies including repair, replacement, price reduction, or refund as appropriate. Hidden defects in our facilities or services that affect your stay are covered under statutory warranty provisions. Under Portuguese law, the general limitation period for contractual claims is twenty (20) years from the date the obligation becomes enforceable (Art. 309 Código Civil Português), with a shorter ordinary limitation period of five (5) years for certain obligations (Art. 310).
• Commercial Warranty: In addition to statutory guarantees, we offer a service quality warranty covering the functionality of in-room amenities and facilities for the duration of your stay. This includes prompt maintenance response for any equipment failures and alternative arrangements if repairs cannot be completed within a reasonable timeframe. After-sales service includes assistance with any post-stay queries or concerns via our customer service team.
• Contract Duration: For individual bookings, the contract duration corresponds to your confirmed reservation dates. Group bookings and corporate contracts may have customized duration terms. The contract may be terminated in accordance with our cancellation policy or in cases of force majeure, breach of hotel rules, or non-payment.
• Digital Content: In accordance with the Decreto-Lei n.º 7/2004 (Lei do Comércio Eletrónico), our digital booking system provides real-time availability, instant confirmation, and secure payment processing. The booking platform is optimized for desktop and mobile devices, requiring an internet connection and updated browser for full functionality. Prior to finalizing any booking, the user will be clearly informed of the technical steps required to complete the contract, the languages in which the contract may be formalized, and the means available to identify and correct input errors.
• Right of Withdrawal: In accordance with the Decreto-Lei n.º 24/2014 (distance contracts), the right of withdrawal does not apply to accommodation services where a specific date or period of performance is agreed upon at the time of booking. This exemption applies to hotel reservations with confirmed dates.
• Consumer Mediation: In the event of a dispute that cannot be resolved directly, consumers may submit a complaint through the Livro de Reclamações (online or physical) or contact ASAE. Consumers may also use a certified consumer mediation entity (entidade de resolução alternativa de litígios - RAL) listed at www.consumidor.gov.pt.
